Did you know you can watch your security cameras through your Smart TV system?  (A smart TV device is either a television set with integrated Internet capabilities or a set-top box for television that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic television set. Smart TVs may be thought of as an information appliance or the computer system from a handheld computer integrated within a television set unit, as such smart TV often allows the user to install and run more advanced applications or plugins/addons based on a specific platform.)

This allows you to be watching what is going on outside your home while the Smart TV and security cameras are operational. This is especially advantageous when combined with a sound proof Home Theatre and internal security.

For business this means that when using a Smart TV for advertising, the same TV can be used to access immediate security camera information as well.

Did you know you can watch your security cameras through your integrated digital television system?  (An integrated digital television (IDTV or iDTV) set is a television set with a built in digital Tuner. Most of them also allow reception of analogue signals. They do away with the need for a set-top box for converting those signals for reception on a television.)

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras can produce images or recordings for surveillance purposes, and can be either video cameras, or digital stills cameras.  Video cameras are either analogue or digital, which means that they work on the basis of sending analogue or digital signals to a storage device such as a video tape recorder, desktop or laptop computer.

IP cameras or network cameras are analogue or digital video cameras, plus an embedded video server having an IP address, capable of streaming the video (and sometimes, even audio).

Network cameras can be used for surveillance solutions (requiring one network camera, some Ethernet cabling, and one PC), or to replace entire CCTV installations (cameras become network cameras, tape recorders become DVRs, and CCTV monitors become computers with TFT screens and specialised software).
